National News: The tension between Pakistan and India seems to be growing again, especially after the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April. After this attack, India has decided to take strict action against Pakistan. Civil defense mock drills will be organized across the country on Wednesday, which will show that India is completely alert in terms of its security and is ready to face any emergency. During this time, the countrymen have demanded a befitting reply to Pakistan.
India has taken several concrete steps against Pakistan, including postponing the Indus Water Agreement. This step has proved to be a major setback for Pakistan. The postponement of this agreement has caused restlessness in Pakistan, and it feels that India will no longer show any softening in terms of terrorism and across the border. Talking on a private channel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the water of India's rivers has been causing disputes and conflicts for decades, but now India has launched a major campaign to use its rivers water properly.
Referring to the country's major water projects like Ken-Betwa Link and Parvati-Kalisindh Chambal link, PM Modi said that millions of farmers will benefit from these projects. In a meeting of the Security Cabinet Committee (CCS) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it was decided that goods imported from Pakistan would be banned. In addition, Pakistan's ships will no longer be allowed to enter Indian ports. This step has been taken by Pakistan for promoting cross -border terrorism, and a message has been given to Pakistan that its business relations with India will be affected until it takes concrete action on terrorism.
Prime Minister Modi also explained the importance of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), which is proving to be helpful in providing full benefit of government schemes to the poor. He said that now the poor are getting full benefit of the schemes without any loot. Under DBT, the money of the government's schemes is directly sent to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, which has prevented corruption and leakage.
India has given a clear message to Pakistan that it will not be softened against terrorism. Postponing the Indus Water Agreement and banning all types of imports from Pakistan proves that India will not give any diplomatic relaxation in matters of its safety and sovereignty. In this situation, the demand of the citizens of India is also gaining momentum to give a concrete and effective reply to Pakistan.
